Because money doesn't grow on trees...
Replant is one of the largest student-run, one-day environmental projects in the nation. In order to make Replant successful, numerous preparations must be made throughout the year. Unfortunately, many of these preparations cary with them considerable expense, and although we receive trees from a Chevron-Texaco sponsored tree farm and partial funding from Texas A&M University, this funding does not wholly cover our expenses. In the course of a year, we will need to purchase soil, shovels, buckets, and other necessities for the Replant Day.
As you may be aware, the State of Texas has asked all state institutions to reduce their budget by 7%. Texas A&M's budget has been cut to the tune of $16 million, greatly reducing the amount of money available to student organizations, such as Replant. We would be grateful if your organization would be willing to make a financial of in-kind contribution to help make Replant 2005 possible. Generous donations make what we do at Replant a success. All donations to Aggie Replant are tax deductible. Replant is also in the process of gaining the 501c.3 tax exemption status from the IRS.
We appreciate the support we receive from the community and we do our best to recognize our esteemed contributors at the Replant Kickoff, in local newspapers, as well as on our banner and our web site.
